Allentown Ranch House, Allentown, WA
Client: Dawna Holloway
Contractor: Brian Beck, Baby Construction
Site and Program Criteria:
Two 1500sf houses+ garage
Two 7000+sf adjacent long narrow flat lots in Allentown with mature trees.
The design solution:
The design takes advantage of the long narrow site and stretches out as a series of boxes sliding along a spine. Boxes are located relative to each other to form exterior courts and to accommodate trees and their root systems. The structures are built on a 4’ module allowing the contractor to move 4’ in the E-W direction should he encounter roots during the construction process. This system was utilized during construction.
